RISE LONDON

Tottenhall Infant School is taking part in the Rise London open school fortnight. This is a two-week programme running from 9th to 18th  March where schools across London open their doors to staff from other schools so they can share and learn from effective teaching and leadership practices.

Schools will have the opportunity to showcase strong practice in areas linked to national education priorities such as:

Our Focus 

In our Early Years education, children make excellent progress from their individual starting points, developing the essential skills and knowledge they need for the next stage of their learning journey. Our school provides a high-quality, carefully planned provision within a rich and stimulating environment encouraging curiosity, exploration, and creativity. Language development is a key focus in our school, with opportunities for talk, communication, and vocabulary growth embedded across all areas of learning. We have an inclusive and nurturing environment that supports holistic development, fostering positive attitudes to learning, strong relationships, and social and emotional growth. Pupils develop independence, make thoughtful choices, and take ownership of their learning, building confidence, resilience, and a love of learning that will support them in the future. Our data reflects the quality added, excellent outcomes and readiness for year 1.

We would like to showcase the high-quality provision and support we offer to pupils in developing key language and communication skills. We hope our approach will inspire other schools to strengthen their practice and improve outcomes for all learners. 

Staff from other schools will have the opportunity to listen to Early Years leaders about best practice for developing language and communication. Following this there will be a guided tour of our Early Years setting to showcase a range of inclusive and practical strategies that can be tailored to the needs of the pupils.

This opportunity is open to all school staff at no cost. Please note that spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
